The medieval town of Wexford is located on the river Slaney on the south
east coast of Ireland and offers visitors beautiful
sandy beaches, quaint fishing villages, historical castles, walking tours,
country gardens, fine dining, boutique shopping and the new opera house 2008 (the venue for the world renowned
Wexford opera festival in October).
The Bellfry at Old Boley is centrally located, just 10 minutes drive from
Wexford town, 200 metres from the N25 and the proximity of the Rosslare Ferryport, makes
the Bellfry a wonderful choice for all.
The Old Boley Country House is approached via a long tree-lined avenue and retains all of the charm of a
bygone era. A gracious two storey period property built as a residence circa 1775, it boasts original
Georgian style features, exposed cut stone courtyard and wonderful mature gardens.
Great care has been taken to protect the integrity of the building and its environs during all renovation
projects. On the farm, Val has been successfully breeding pedigree limousin
cattle for many years, earning him many prestigious awards. The property was formerly owned by a prominent political family from which two sisters in turn
married Sean T. O'Kelly who became president of Ireland.
The Bellfry at Old Boley is set in a secluded corner of the courtyard, it evokes a feeling of old fashioned
calm and harmony, a haven of peace so rarely found in today's busy world. Originally built as a Granary it
has been successfully converted into a unique self catering unit utilising many salvaged materials including
reclaimed timbers from the Wexford Quay front. Traditional meets modern best describes the luxurious decor at the
Bellfry.
The accommodation comprises of a large French Chic style master bedroom with
traditional pitch pine beams and is equipped with flat screen T.V., Trouser Press/Iron and safety deposit box.
All rooms are non-smoking and offer stunning views over the Wexford Countryside from their own private terrace.
The second bedroom while smaller retains the same charm and quirkiness of the master
bedroom and offers a private balcony overlooking the courtyard. Downstairs the
design is a large open plan space with double doors leading onto a private patio, BBQ and garden – perfect for lazy
afternoons, you may even spot a pheasant or two.
Val and Eilish Stafford bring their Hotel expertise with them to offer you a
